Crafting Fantasy with Care — For People, Planet, and Passion

Crafting Fantasy with Care

For people, planet, and passion

At Love Smiths, we care not only about what we create, but also how it is designed, sourced, produced, handled, and prepared for its future owner.

Our Approach in Brief

  • We prioritise nearby suppliers for tools, consumables, pigments, packaging, and workshop needs whenever suitable options are available.
  • We design and manufacture our fantasy toys in France rather than outsourcing finished production overseas.
  • We keep material handling, workplace safety, and responsible waste sorting central to the workshop process.
  • We look for practical ways to reuse suitable leftover materials within our own production workflow.
  • We balance creativity with accountability, recognising that responsible production is an ongoing process rather than a finished claim.

Local First, Wherever Possible

Our environmental approach begins with a simple principle: avoid unnecessary distance when a suitable supplier is available closer to the workshop.

Many of the tools, consumables, cleaning supplies, protective equipment, pigments, filaments, packaging materials, stationery, and general workshop needs used by Love Smiths are sourced from France or elsewhere in Europe.

Buying closer to home helps us support regional and European businesses while reducing some of the transport associated with repeatedly sourcing routine workshop supplies from distant markets.

A practical exception: we were unable to identify a suitable European silicone manufacturer that met our requirements. After comparing materials from several international suppliers, we selected a silicone source based on the quality and performance needed for our creations.

Why Make Fantasy Toys in Europe?

Much of the fantasy sex toy market available to European customers is produced outside Europe. Finished products may travel long distances before reaching a European buyer, and imported orders can also involve additional shipping, customs administration, taxes, and delays.

Love Smiths was built around a different model: develop the designs here, create the moulds here, pour the silicone here, and complete the finishing and inspection here.

Producing in France allows us to remain closely involved with every stage of the work. It also helps us offer a distinctly European source for detailed fantasy creations instead of relying entirely on imported finished goods.

Our purpose is not to claim perfection. It is to make deliberate choices, reduce avoidable impact, and keep improving the parts of the process we can directly control.

Using Materials More Thoughtfully

Production can create leftover material, failed casts, test pieces, supports, packaging offcuts, and other workshop waste. We do not treat all of these materials in the same way.

Where a material can be safely and appropriately reused within our own workflow, we explore ways to give it another purpose. Where in-house reuse is not appropriate, materials are separated according to the available recycling and disposal routes.

Reusable Suitable items or materials that can safely serve another practical purpose in the workshop.
Recyclable Materials separated for appropriate in-house or external recycling routes where available.
Non-recyclable Waste that cannot be safely reused or recycled and must be disposed of responsibly.

Responsible and Safe Production

Creative work should never come at the expense of the people doing it. Workshop safety is therefore part of the production method, not an optional extra.

Our working practices include:

  • Working in appropriately ventilated areas.
  • Using suitable gloves, goggles, masks, and other protective equipment when handling raw materials or workshop processes that require them.
  • Storing materials securely and avoiding unsafe stacking, clutter, or obstructed work areas.
  • Keeping tools and production spaces organised to reduce preventable risks.
  • Sorting workshop waste into clear reuse, recycling, and disposal categories.

These measures protect the people making each creation and help maintain a cleaner, more controlled production environment.

Passion with Accountability

Love Smiths exists because we believe fantasy toys can be expressive, detailed, playful, and made with genuine care. But passion alone is not enough. The way a product is sourced and produced also matters.

Our creations bring together original design, handcrafting, practical safety measures, local and European sourcing wherever possible, and a commitment to making thoughtful improvements as the workshop develops.

In that sense, every Love Smiths toy is more than an object of pleasure. It represents a choice to create locally, work carefully, and treat artistry, people, and environmental responsibility as parts of the same process.
