Gnome

They call him a gnome, but that word makes him sound small. Harmless. Comic.

He is neither.

In the old districts where gaslight clings to cobblestone and brass gears whisper behind workshop doors, there is a figure who appears when temptation becomes curiosity — a freckled face, a sharp grin, a tartan apron hanging low on his hips, and a gaze that lingers a second too long.

He is the Clockwork Gnome, the one who “fixes” what isn’t broken and improves what was already indecent.

They say he learned his craft in the damp underworld of mushroom cellars, where fungi grow thick and strange in the dark — soft veils, layered filaments, caps that swell slowly with heat. He became obsessed with that shape: the way it begins innocent, rounded, almost cute… then reveals complexity the deeper you go.

So he carved his masterpiece to match.

A smooth crown, broad enough to tease, inviting enough to let you relax — and then, underneath, a body that turns mischievous: layered textures like hidden gills, ridges stacked like secret petals, details that feel different depending on how you press, how you angle, how slowly you rotate.

The Clockwork Gnome doesn’t rush. He prefers anticipation.

A pause. A breath. A slow turning of the wrist.

Like winding a pocket watch… until the tension clicks into something you can feel in your spine.

He’s polite enough to offer the first touch gently.

But he always makes sure you remember who taught you that “small” can still be overwhelming.

And when you’re flushed and breathless, he’ll grin like a craftsman admiring his work, tap the side of his hat, and disappear back into the dark — leaving only the scent of damp earth, warm metal… and the lingering certainty that you’ll want to summon him again.
